LOU SCHOOL OF DREAMS is an organization that helps the displaced children and widowed women of JINJA District – Uganda. LOU SCHOOLS OF DREAMS was founded in 2019 in Jinja District by Samuel who saw the need to extend support services to vulnerable and needy children that have been left parentless by the HIV/AIDs pandemic in Busoga.
We provide shelter, feed, educate, and clothe to the orphaned children, provide shelter and jobs for the widowed women, and educate the community about HIV/AIDS. Fights corruption through strict checks and balances and internal controls to ensure that every Ugandan shilling is spent with integrity and efficiently supports the development of the community.
LOU SCHOOLS OF DREAMS is a registered, religious based, and child centered organization found in Uganda, Jinja District, Mafubira sub county, the organization is set to address the high increased rates of HIV/AIDS orphaned children and widows, highly increased numbers of street children as a result of poverty and family neglect, and also put an end to early childhood marriages in the community.
Mafubira being a rural and remote area, there are a lot of challenges faced in day to day life, for example lack of access to education, child and family neglect, lack of employment for the people around the communities, lack of good and clean water, the community is also characterized by a lot of early childhood marriages and to mention but a few.
LOU SCHOOLS OF DREAMS has a total of 100 children under the home, and 30 children under the day care program, with most them being girls the need for day to day necessities is high, we also have 50 widows with whom we are helping in the women empowerment program.
